Francis Ives is a UK based artist whose artistic practice revolves around sculpture and painting.
Ives creates large-scale constructed forms that utilize elements of minimalism, decorative motif and painted mark or fluid surface - repeated pattern occurs in the making of an object that develops organically, in exhibition objects act as surrogate figures each occupying a given space, playing part of in larger spatial intervention.
Francis originally studied Illustration at Cambridge College of Arts & Technology before embarking on a Fine Art Practice first at Byam Shaw School of Art (BA Hons) then Slade School of Art (MFA Painting) Francis balances his Fine Art practice with teaching.
